A report is only as good as the accreditation, the calibration record and the technician who signed it.

Universal is a nationally accredited Special Inspection Agency by IAS, and a construction materials testing firm accredited by AASHTO/CCRL in New York and CMEC in Florida. Our laboratories operate under documented quality manuals reviewed on a fixed audit cycle.

Behind the agency accreditations sit individually certified people — ACI, ICC, AWS, ASNT and NICET — and equipment traceable to NIST standards. The credential and the calibration travel with the report.

Accreditation sets the floor. The program below is what keeps a sample, a reading and a signature defensible months after the pour.

Documented quality manual

Every discipline operates from a written manual mapped to its accrediting standard, with revision control and annual management review.

Equipment calibration & traceability

Instruments are calibrated on a scheduled interval against NIST-traceable references; records are retained and tied to the reports they produced.

Internal & third-party audits

Scheduled internal audits plus external assessments by IAS, AASHTO and CCRL, with corrective actions closed before the next cycle.

Technician qualification & training

Certifications tracked to expiry, with proctored renewals and in-house training on procedures before field assignment.

Report review & chain of custody

Samples are logged from field to lab under chain of custody, and every report is reviewed by a licensed professional before release.

If a result cannot be traced back to a calibrated instrument and a certified technician, it does not leave the building.
