The Brief

Generating stations and substations are tested in the gaps between outages, not instead of them.

Utility work carries constraints the rest of construction does not: energized equipment, restricted access, and an outage window that was scheduled a year in advance and will not move. Foundations for transformers and turbines are massive, heavily reinforced and unforgiving of a late result.

We scope our crews and laboratory turnaround to the outage, and we bring nondestructive methods to structures that cannot be cored or taken out of service.
